WHY. DID. I. WATCH. THIS.
Answer: Because my uncle and aunt bought me the DVD for Christmas.
The only reason I'm not angry with myself for wasting two hours from my life is because after this I love the BBC-miniseries even more.
I get it, there are people in it. No Colin Firth, but there are people. Keira Knightly (I don't like her), Judi Dench, Donald Sutherland, "Miss Evangelista/Annabelle Fritton", "The Girl From Saved", "Sally Sparrow" and of course Matthew Macfadyen.
Yeah, my first point: Matthew Macfadyen is UGLY. (At least in this. And apart from this I've only seen him in the first episode of Little Dorrit in my London hotel room which had the tiniest TV ever. Apparently he was in an episode of Ashes to Ashes but I can't remember him in that. So I don't really know how he looks like at other times.) I couldn't fall in love with his Darcy at all. It was very sad.
AND THERE WERE STATUES IN PEMBERLEY. NOT PAINTINGS. BLOODY MARBLE STATUES.
Also, Colonel Fitzwilliam was UGLY. Why was Colonel Fitzwilliam ugly? He's supposed to be a handsome gentleman, the next best thing after Darcy. At least in my mind. And my mind is always right, you know.
This reminds me: BINGLEY – WHY A TOTAL LOSER? Okay, he's nowhere as handsome or bright as Darcy but he acted like an IDIOT all the time. BINGLEY IS NOT AN IDIOT!
There must have been a lot of other things I hated but the above ones made me really angry. I didn't really pay much attention after the first forty minutes anyway. However, I payed enough attention to know thatin this film in life RAIN EQUALS SAD, SUNSHINE EQUALS HAPPY.
PS. Have you seen the alternate ending? If you haven't, please don't watch it ever, better for you.

:D *hányingert kap a gondolattól is*
Ami viszont egész aranyos és élvezhető, az a bollywoodi változat, a Bride And Prejudice, abban Martin Henderson Darcy (imádom), Sayid Bingley (és dögös, mint állat) és Alexis Bledel Ms. Darcy, szóval jó a szereposztás. És énekelnek benne! Sokat. ;)

I didn't like the fim either when I watched it but... I think that's because I don't like any version of P&P really so my opinion probably doesn't count for much in that respect :)

We already talked about how you fail being a girl by not liking P&P so I'm not gonna point that out again. Oops, sorry, I did. :) &hearts

I think Matthew MacFadyen was a good Darcy... except his Darcy was more Heathcliff than Darcy. All that walking about with an open shirt? But at least that's not quite as bad as him walking around in wet shirt and breeches. *snark*
Apparently he was in an episode of Ashes to Ashes but I can't remember him in that.
He's the Geordie guy who's obsessive-compulsive and has a Kevin Keegan perm. *lol* So he doesn't look good.

I didn't say that. But he's handsome in my head. :))

I have nothing against open shirts but that's so not a Darcy thing to do, yes.
(But I'm one of those crazy women who loves The Wet Shirt Scene. Sorry. :D)

I'll check that out anyway, thanks!

No need to apologise. I just think that if you can love that scene, you can tolerate him walking around with an open shirt. But I'm not particularly impressed with that scene, nor with the open shirt. I think Matthew looks wondefully Byronic but Darcy isn't Byronic. *lol*

I'd still hit that like the almightly fist of God, just sayin'

If you say so.

btw csaj a saved!ből jena malone, tessék megjegyezni, ő tökjó.
