I just finished reading ECLIPSE.

You know, it was so much better than NEW MOON. Of course it still isn't literature, but I really enjoyed reading it and didn't want to kill myself for doing so. So that was a change.

Of course Bella still annoys the hell out of me. For example because of this:

“Shut your window if you want me to stay away tonight. I’ll understand,” he whispered just before I slammed the door.
[...]
I stamped my way up the stairs, and went straight to my window. I shoved the metal frame roughly — it crashed shut and the glass trembled.
I stared at the shivering black glass for a long moment, until it was still. Then I sighed, and opened the window as wide as it would go.

Bella, dear, it's okay to love Edward. He's sexy. He loves you. He smells good. But WHAT THE FUCK? He breaks your car just so you cannot visit your werewolf friend and YOU LET HIM GET AWAY WITH IT JUST LIKE THAT? ARGH.

Also, this:

Jacob dropped the antagonistic façade completely. It was like he’d forgotten Edward was there, or at least he was determined to act that way. “I miss you every day, Bella. It’s not the same without you.”
“I know and I’m sorry, Jake, I just . . .”
He shook his head, and sighed. “I know. Doesn’t matter, right? I guess I’ll survive or something. Who needs friends?” He grimaced, trying to cover the pain with a thin attempt at bravado.
Jacob’s suffering had always triggered my protective side. It was not entirely rational — Jacob was hardly in need of any physical protection I could offer. But my arms, pinned beneath Edward’s, yearned to reach out to him. To wrap around his big, warm waist in a silent promise of acceptance and comfort.
Edward’s shielding arms had become restraints.

Edward controls her every move and she doesn't even say a thing. She just lets him. Bella, dear, he's your BOYFRIEND, for god's sake, not your MASTER. ARGH.

Of course I was angry with Edward too, but he made up in the rest of the book, where he actually makes sense.* Unlike Bella. She never makes sense.

*Except for when he talked about The Only Virtue He Still Had and coming up with more and more stupid reasons why he cannot shag his girlfriend before her becoming a vampire/marrying him. But I didn't expect anything else from a book written by a Mormon so he can get away with that.

PS. I'm seriously in love with the Cullens. All of them. ♥Alice ♥Carlisle
