You love Jane Austen/
Pride and Prejudice and haven't seen
Lost in Austen yet? WATCH IT.
The series tells the story of Amanda Price (played by Jemima Rooper), a keen Jane Austen fan in the present day, who meets the Pride and Prejudice character of Elizabeth Bennet (played by Gemma Arterton) in her bathroom. Amanda goes through a secret doorway hidden in the wall that Elizabeth showed her, and finds herself trapped inside the story. While Elizabeth is happy to live in Amanda's world, Amanda struggles to make sure that events of the book unfold as they are supposed to, but her presence causes ripples through the Bennet household.
Wikipedia (cause I'm too lazy to write a plot description of my own)
It's awesomeness. Lizzy doesn't have much screentime but she's played by Gemma Arterton, who was Kelly in
St. Trinian's! Plus: Caroline Bingley: Christina Cole (she was Lilith in
The Shakespeare Code). Plusplus: Kitty: Florence Hoath aka Nancy-are-you-my-mummy!
Have I mentioned that Mrs Bennet is portrayed by Alex Kingston? Who actually
acts in this. So much better than River Song.
And as for Mr Darcy... He's quite good-looking (even if he doesn't seem the best actor). Well, he's not Colin Firth. Of course Amanda noticed that too:
Jane: You prophecied Mr Darcy would attend the ball and he duely came. Did he prove equals to your expectations?
Amanda: Yes. And no. I mean, he's not Colin Firth. Even Colin Firth isn't Colin Firth. They had to change the shape of his head with makeup.
:)
ETA: It only just started on ITV so don't expect to find more than one episode yet.
